And So the Wheel Turns

Wow, my life couldn't be any more like a soap opera if I tried. I have a job interview this morning, but last night I was told that it's now suddenly looking very good that I'll be rehired by where I've been working for the last few months (and before a break last year, for the last six years). Rehired, meaning full time, with a contract, with benefits, et al.

Personally, I'd rather that than starting over somewhere else. It's kind of the easy way out, but tell me if you wouldn't take the easy way out if it meant working for a company where you can show up whenever you want, get paid to watch television all day, and work with people you both like and respect? Yeah, well. Sign me up.

But it all hinges on whether things materialize today with a client who's claiming they're going to be able to provide us with 50% of our work, ongoing. So, if ever you wanted to send some positive juju my way, today's the day. I'd rather stay where I'm trusted and where my coworkers are somewhat akin to family, and where I can waltz in any hour of the day to do what I have on my plate, and leave at my leisure.

In the meantime, I have to go to this interview this morning 'cos I don't know it's 100% yet. 95% ain't 100, and things could still come apart.

In other news, it looks like I've stepped on some toes with my last posting, but I cannot find any way of reconciling my very opionated self with a state government that's making adultery illegal. I told a coworker yesterday and she dropped what she was holding she was so stunned. Crazy shit, man. Related to that is the fact that the nuclear scientists moved the Doomsday Clock into the 11:55 position (it's been between 11:45 and midnight for the last 50 years; after 9/11 it was 11:53, meaning they believe peace/the state of the world is more precarious today when it was then-- with global warming playing a not too small part in that belief).

I betcha some of the scientists live in Michigan. ;)
